Cybersecurity Translated Into Plain English

The internet is complicated enough. We built SafePasswordGenerator.net so anyone can be secure, not just people who already know what "256-bit AES" means.

Why We Built This

After years in enterprise security, a pattern became impossible to ignore. The tools were built for engineers. The advice was written for engineers. The blogs read like vendor documentation.

Meanwhile, the people who needed security help most had nowhere to go that did not make them feel stupid. Parents. Small business owners. Anyone who has ever clicked "remind me later" on a software update.

Security being unintentionally reserved for tech people is a problem worth solving. So we built the translator.

  • We explain the scary internet stuff so you do not have to panic about it.
  • We test the tools so you do not have to guess.
  • We write like humans, because we are humans, and so are you.

The "Show Your Work" Standard

If there is a review on this site, a human wrote it.

If we recommend a password manager, we did not just read the spec sheet. We installed it. We used it daily. We tried to cancel the subscription to see if they made it difficult. We timed how long support took to reply.

Our work on AI-generated passwords found that a major language model produced the same password string 18 out of 50 times, with only approximately 27 bits of entropy versus the approximately 98 bits a cryptographically secure generator produces. That required actually running the tests, not summarizing someone else's blog post.

We verify claims so you do not have to.

How We Protect Your Privacy

Trust is hard to earn online. Here is exactly how this site works, in plain English.

Your Passwords Stay With You

Translation: We literally cannot see your passwords.

When you use our Password Generator, everything happens inside your browser. The password is created on your device using the Web Crypto API. It never travels to our servers. Ever.

Think of it this way: we handed you a secure calculator. You punch in the numbers, you see the result. We just built the calculator.

Our code is open source on GitHub. Any developer can verify this claim line by line.

No Third-Party Tracking

Translation: No scripts on this site send your data anywhere else.

We do not run Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party tracking service. Your visit stays between you and this server.

  • × Sell your data to anyone, ever
  • × Track anything you type into the password generator
  • × Run retargeting ads that follow you around the internet
  • × Share your browsing behavior with third parties
  • Earn affiliate commissions on recommended products (disclosed below)

We Recommend Products (And Get Paid For Some)

Translation: We are upfront about how we make money.

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click through and purchase a product like NordPass or RoboForm, we earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This is how we keep the site free and ad-free.

Our policy: we will never recommend a product we have not personally tested. The commission does not influence our opinion. If a product is difficult to cancel, has poor support, or does not deliver on its claims, we will not feature it.

Who Is This For?

  • The parent who just got a scary email from "Netflix" and is not sure if it is real.
  • The small business owner who knows "Password123" is bad but is too busy to fix it.
  • The student who wants to lock down their accounts without learning to code.
  • The developer who wants to understand what actually makes a password weak at the entropy level.

You do not need to be a security expert to be safe. You just need a translator.

Welcome.
